Salt Lake City Public Safety Building

This 320,000 square foot 3 story building is the new home Salt Lake City’s Fire and Police departments. Also included, is a new 911 Emergency Call Center. The complex project was completed in just under 18 months. The building is designed to resist an earthquake up to a magnitude of 7.5. To reach this, the specifications exceeded current design standards. The project includes redundant service feeds as well as Twin 1250KW generators to provide 100% building back up power. Areas of the building include SWAT ready rooms and arsenal, exercise room, holding cells, interview and interrogation rooms, staff offices, emergency response conference rooms as well as offices for the Chief of Police and Chief of Fire. This building is LEED Gold. It is the first of its kind in the nation to be Net Zero building.
