Virtual Design for Construction

We here at Taylor Electric take pride in embracing the rapid changes in the construction industry, and in leading the charge to develop faster, safer, and more efficient ways to meet the new demands and challenges of the field. Our Virtual Design for Construction Department (VDC) is taking construction into the future with technology, innovation, and fabrication.

Project Planning

Pre-construction services begin in our VDC department. We use the latest technology and computer software to pre-plan our projects and match your vision of the finished product. Looking forward aids us in prefabricating assemblies, quantifying material, and visualizing the complete project to identify any safety hazards.

Planning well in advance of those needs ensures that the workers in the field are prepared on the day of installation. We then take that knowledge to the next level and use this to develop installation plans and communicate with the project team for efficient and safe execution of the plan. Our unique approach to every project gives us an edge in keeping up with high demand schedules.

BIM Services

Should your project require BIM services, Taylor Electric has you covered. Our in-house VDC department coordinates BIM models utilizing the latest software offered through Autodesk. We are prepared to meet the latest industry LOD standards. Our team of designers consists of electricians with field leadership experience who manage every BIM project and guarantee a clash free, constructable design that meets all code requirements.

Layout

Technology is at the heart of growth at Taylor Electric, as we have been utilizing a Robotic Total Station since 2011. We have developed our standards and practices, and continually improve the process to achieve the best results possible. Layout files are exported directly from the BIM model: no third party, transfer of information, or additional steps necessary to be layout ready. The same in-house team coordinating the BIM models creates the layout files, ensuring that our field installers build true to the design.

Got a Tesla wall charger installed by Taylor Electric and can’t say enough good things about the entire process. They had the best price out of all my estimates and were very friendly and professional. Rocky Mountain and EM city were making it a bit of a pain for scheduling the temporary power shutoff. There was also some confusion around permits, but Taylor Electric made sure everything went smoothly. The install itself went perfectly and looks great!
