University of Southern Nevada: South Jordan Campus

University of Southern Nevada is a Pharmaceutical School located in the River Park Development in South Jordan, Utah. This project is an 119,000 square foot two story facility which included high tech interactive classrooms, laboratories, research library, student commons, administration offices and various support facilities. Electrically the facility included direct/indirect linear lighting for the library and utilized parabolic lighting for much of the remaining space. Accent down lighting, chandeliers and sconces are part of the design to add interest and highlighting. Exterior lighting included facade up lighting and high performance site lighting poles. Lighting systems are globally controlled via BMS system integrated lighting panels and locally controlled via occupancy sensors and/or multilevel local switching. Power for the facility includes generator support for life safety and selected high priority loads. The main service is 2500 amps at 277/480 volt with a main electrical room and five satellite electrical rooms which contain step down transformers to provide the 120/208 volt power. As well there are six IT rooms that support the significant communication/data needs of this state of the art facility. This project was a design build project with the design phase requiring about 5 months and construction taking about 12 months to complete.
