Donna Garff Marriott Residential Scholars Honors Community

The Donna Garff Marriott Residential Scholars Community houses 309 students and resident advisors in apartment-style living. The first floor of the building will house the Honors academic experience: The Big Ideas Room—the home of the Engaged Learning Initiative, two seminar rooms, a library, three Honors faculty offices, and two Residential Education offices. The central focus of the building—a large community hub called the Honors Commons—is designed to flow from interior spaces to the outside. Each residential wing of the building is centered among a series of “Honors Towers” which provide both conceptual and functional identities to the space. Floors within the building will be dedicated to different disciplines and learning communities. The project is connected to campus utilities by over 1,000 feet of ductbank. A new 6Way 15KV MV switch provides power through VFI Switches to two Transformers. The building is serviced by 2,000A 480V switchgear and 4,000A 208/120V switchgear. Amenities include:
