University of Utah: Guesthouse

The University of Utah Guesthouse project consists of a new 36,000 square foot wing to the existing facility. This new wing adds 48 new residential units to the existing capacity. The main entrance and lobby also undertook an extensive expansion and remodel, while the entire facility undertook upgrades to the fire alarm system. During all of the renovations and upgrades the facility stayed in operations and with detailed coordination from the staff, managers, and construction team. Guest became first priority as the day to day operation continued throughout the course of construction. This new wing is equipped with a large 3 section conference center, it boost new state of the art audio/video system and integrated lighting controls. The new facilities infrastructure was tied into the existing with emergency generator back up, communications and power services. Each floor also contains a small meeting area and separate conference room that overlooks the beautiful Salt Lake Valley.
