BYU Broadcasting

This building is 100,000 square feet, state of the art broadcast building. It boasts 3 large production studios, several small control studios, and 8 radio studios. Each of the studios includes intricate latticework of theatrical lighting. The studios are connected to a large central command and control area via several large underground duct banks including one with 30 4” conduits. The building includes editing suites, office suites, and dressing rooms. A large raised floor server room is the brains of the operation. The normal power supply includes a 1600A 480/277V service and a 1600A 208/120V service fed from a 2000KVA 15KV transformer. This project required new 15KV medium voltage lines be brought to the building. The emergency power system includes a pair of 1750W diesel generators. The essential parts of the building are run through three 300W Uninterruptible Power Supplies.
